"K-RALA (Potassium R-Lipoate) is the stable potassium salt form of R-Lipoic Acid(RLA), the naturally occuring and 99% chirally pure form of Alpha Lipoic Acid(ALA). Commercially available ALA contains the unnatural S-Lipoic Acid, which may limit the value of the R-form. Researchers believe that RLA may be up to 8 times more active than ALA. RLA is neuroprotective, helps control blood sugar, increases ATP levels, chelates heavy metals and functions as a powerful antioxidant against numerous types of free radicals. RLA has the ability to penetrate the mitochondria, reverse enzyme and DNA oxidation."
